Timex Ladies Electric UFO

A pretty little Timex with a UFO shaped case

Description:

Timex is the Rodney Dangerfield of watches - no respect. Many prestigious watch companies continually harp upon their pedigree citing how long they've been established. Timex can date its origins back to 1854 when it was founded as the Waterbury Clock Company (Patek Phillipe was founded in 1851 and Rolex only goes back to 1905). In the 1940s, they became United States Time Corporation. The "Timex" brand made its debut in 1950 and was so named to "convey U.S. Time's technological expertise and innovation". The Timex brand combined durability through the use of new hard alloys and the catchy slogan "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking". It was so successful that the company renamed itself after its most successful brand in 1969. Timex was one of the few American watch companies to survive the 1970s and continues to produce durable and econonical watches to this very day.

This Timex with its distinctive UFO shape is typical of many of the space age designs from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The dial and hands are in near perfect condition.

The watch has the original mesh band. If you look very closely, there are a few almost imperceptibly slight kinks, which you would be hard pressed to see.

Function / Accuracy: Good.
This watch runs, however, has not been recently timed for accuracy. Ask me and I'll check it out.
