IThis Pulsar LCD Dress model is the very last model from Pulsar before they shut their doors forever. This is the last true Pulsar before the company shut down and the brand was sold off, first to the jewelry firm Rhapsody Inc, and then to Seiko.

This model came out in 1977 as all of the LED watch manufacturers were being crushed by a combination of LCD technology and hypercompetition from low cost imports from the far east. A year later, not a single LED watch maker would be left standing. In just a little over 5 years, the LED watch went from the hot must-have item of the world's celebrities and power brokers to extinction. Seldom do we see such a quick and brutal shift in the marketplace, even in the fast paced technology world.

The Pulsar LCD Dress model is a solid, well-built no frills wristwatch. The movement is made in Japan. The left button activates an incandescent back light and the right button displays the date.

Due to its no nonsense, dependable nature, a Pulsar LCD Dress model was reportedly on the wrist of the legendary Pulsar designer Jean Wuischpard when he passed away in 2006. During his career, Jean designed some of the world's most iconic wristwatches including almost every LED watch ever produced by Pulsar (with the exception of the ladies Touch Command models and the Euro Calculator). Jean could have worn almost any Pulsar watch and yet he chose to wear this humble but stylish LCD Dress model as his #1 every day watch.

Condition:

This watch is in new old stock minty condition. There's not much more to say - it's nearly perfect. Since it is new old stock, this watch also comes with its original Pulsar box and printed instructions.
