This is a retro tribute to the iconic 1975 LIP LED watch fashioned by the legendary industrial designer, Roger Tallon.

One glance at this watch and the hyper-minimalist yet highly functional design is obvious. Roger Tallon incorporated this desgin sensibility into hundreds of products including cameras, furniture, televisions, drinking glasses, and most famously, the French TGV high speed train.

This watch is easy to use - simply press the top right button for the time or the bottom right button for the date. Many 70s era digital watches had small pokey buttons that were hard to press and left little indentations on your fingers from pressing. Not so the Lip. The spherial buttons are both stylish and also make the buttons easier to push.

The watch is also extremely well made and very solid. The band is plastic but durable and tough.

The display can be a little difficult to read in bright light, but it's easy enough to shade the display in the sun to view. Sacrifices must be made for fashion.

If you want an original 1975 Lip diode watch, you should be prepared to shell out $1000 or more if you can find one. They are extremely rare. This modern remake is a sensible alternative. Another significant advantage of the the new watches is that they are available in colors that weren't possible in the 1970s because of advances in LED technology. The new diode watches are available with displays that light up in red, green, blue, and orange.

Condition:

This Lip diode watch is in excellent, almost new condition. This watch also comes with its beautiful original leather case and (slighly confusing) printed instructions.

Case: Excellent.
Almost new. There is one small nick on the edge of the case underneath the display, but otherwise the watch is in very good like new condition.

Face / Hands: Excellent.
All LED digits and segments are complete and bright.

Crystal: Excellent.
Almost new. There are no scratches on the red time screen.

Band / Bracelet: Excellent.
The rubber band is in excellent, almost like-new condition.

Function / Accuracy: Excellent.
All functions work perfectly. Digital quartz accuracy, although these modern quartz watches are slightly less accurate than high end vintage watches like Pulsar.
