Description:

The Pulsar P4 Classic was created as a tribute to the Pulsar P2 but with updated P4 technology. The P4 Classic was one of the three styles of "auto-command" wrist-flick activated P4 models made by Pulsar with the other two styles being referred to as the "Executive" and the "Big Time".

The Pulsar P4 Classic was made in stainless steel, 14KT gold fill and both 14KT and 18KT solid gold by special order. The gold allow used in this model is quite beautiful and unique due to its slight rosy color.

These models had the "auto-command" feature, an innovative mercury switch that allows you to activate the LED display simply by quickly rotating your wrist in a flicking motion. The watch is only sensitive to motion along the axis of your arm in order to make it less prone to activating inadvertantly. A few other models of watches such as the Gillette "Reflex" also featured mercury switch activation, but these were activated by orientation rather than a quick back and forth rotary motion and therefore were not nearly so useful or refined as the Pulsar solution.

All P4 Classic models have the "auto-set" feature, which allows you to set the time and date by pressing the buttons three times quickly instead of requiring the use of a magnet.

This particular P4 Classic also has the rare 403 "Day of the Week" module which features a tiny day of the week display located beneath the main time display.

Case: Excellent.
The case is in excellent, almost mint condition with nice defined edges and no visible scratches! There is one almost microscopic nick to the right of the time screen. The case back is also in almost mint condition with no visible scratches or marks.

Face / Hands: Excellent.
All LED digits and segments are complete and bright.

Crystal: Very good.
This P4 Classic features a synthetic sapphire time screen which is in almost mint condition except for one small scratch on the right side.

Band / Bracelet: Excellent
The bracelet is in excellent condition with no wear through the gold filled surface and has a complete set of 22 links. this bracelet will comfortably fit an 8" wrist. Since this watch has an autoset module rather than a magnet set module, there is no setting magnet or magnet holder contained in the clasp.

Function / Accuracy: Excellent.
All functions work perfectly. The auto-command "wrist-flick" function works perfectly and requires just a gentle roll of the wrist to activate and is very consistent. Digital quartz accuracy. Actually, since quartz crystals actually improve with age and the original Pulsar accuracy was a phenomenal 30 seconds per year, these vintage Pulsars usually keep time better than most modern quartz watches!
